This month’s lecture is on ‘Boskin, Skelbuse and Foddergang: Traditional Farm Buildings in the Yorkshire Dales’ by Jim Brightman.

It will be looking at the ways in which features such as dry-stone walls, traditionally built barns, and hay meadows are still being adapted for use today, despite being part o now defunct farming methods. It will explain their past and present uses and what the future may have in store for them.

Jim Brightman is the partner in Solstice Heritage LLP, independent heritage consultancy and archaeological practice in North Yorkshire.
